18 degree polar vortex!

13 March 2014 – Wow. Spent last night at Muskrat Creek in the tent. I knew it was going to be cold but the sleet, snow, and 50 mph winds were an added bonus. My sleeping bag is rated to 15 degrees – that is a survival temperature, not a comfort temperature. I wore EVERY piece of clothing to bed and made it through the night. Expecting the same cold temps tonight without the precipitation and wind. Hotel and warm bed tomorrow if I can hustle the next 12 miles; something to shoot for.
